On September 2012 was held the Berenice Kick-off meeting during the XVIII International Congress for Tropical Medicine and Malaria which took place in Rio de Janeiro.

 

They presented BERENICE as a research project that aims to obtain a more effective drug, with a better relation cost-benefit and especially that diminishes the side effects of the current treatments against Chagas's disease.

The meeting of the consortium was in the frame of the congress, and partners could debate on the first phases of the project, which already began on September 1, for a period of 5 years. During the congress, Dr. Molina presented also the preliminary results of the study Chagasazol, and took part in diverse round tables on the possible present and future treatments against Chagas's disease.
