workshop on Chagas disease

On 14 and 15 July 2016, the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) organized a workshop on Chagas in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.

Organized and coordinated by Professor Marcelo Sousa Silva, partner of the consortium BERENICE, the initiative aims to study and analyze the disease and its presence in the state of Brazil.


The workshop was attended by representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), the Ministry of Health and the Regional Health of Brazil, as well as teachers and researchers from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation of Minas Gerais.

The initiative seeks to identify partners for the development of a technology platform for the production of drugs for neglected tropical diseases such as Chagas disease.
