The first workshop of the Berenice project took place in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil on the 28TH October 2015 in the framework of the XXIII Latin American Congress of Parasitology - FLAP Salvador de Bahia 27th-31st October 2015. With the title Satellite Symposia - Globalization of Chagas disease, 4 introductory lectures were made to discuss on the latest developments in Chagas disease . The first lecture was "Why fail clinical trials" with the aim of discussing the lack of correlation between in vivo and human trials. The speaker was Dr. Cláudia Martin Carneiro (P3 FIOCRUZ). The next lecture was "Old drugs, new schemes" with the intention of talking about the role of benznidazole and future studies with dose change. The speaker was Dr. Sergio Sosa Estani (P5 ANLIS). The third lecture was "new drugs, lights and shadows", in which the subject of azoles and other possible compounds was deepened. The speaker was Dr. Israel Molina (P1 ICS-HUVH) and project coordinator. The fourth lecture was "New technology for the assessment of Chagas disease evolution" which highlighted the new technologies to assess Chagas disease. The speaker was Dr. Eusebio Gainza (P9 BIOPRAXIS RESEARCH AIE). Dr. Pedro Albajar, WHO delegate in Chagas disease, was invited as moderator of the workshop
